Lux Aeterna
Lucymar Ayala
CT-based Designer
Hi, I’m Lucymar — a fashion design student focused on bold femininity, strong structure, always with a hint of flow and elevated detail. I’m building my brand Lux Aeterna around transformation, resilience, and wearable drama. I love projects that balance concept with construction, and I’m especially drawn to pieces that feel powerful, decorated, and intentional.
This site is a collection of my design work, process, and growth as I develop my portfolio.
“What kind of designer are you?”
I am a concept-driven designer with a moody, narrative approach to fashion. I use design as a form of storytelling, building collections through in-depth research and visual exploration. My process begins with studying what inspires me—often nature, lived experiences, and the ways strength and vulnerability coexist—before translating those ideas into form, structure, and silhouette.
I am drawn to how protection, power, and identity are expressed in both the natural world and human behavior. This curiosity shapes the way I design, guiding my material choices, construction methods, and proportions. Every piece is developed with intention, allowing the concept to lead the design rather than decoration alone. Through this approach, my work reflects emotion, resilience, and presence—creating garments that feel grounded, expressive, and purposeful.
WINTER COLLECTION 26’ - ROOTED
Concept: Clothing is Armour
Rooted is inspired by the way nature protects itself. Many animals rely on instinctive forms of defense—poisonous dart frogs use color as warning, peacocks command attention through display, and armored textures create both beauty and protection. This collection draws from those natural strategies and translates them into fashion as armor.
Through structured silhouettes, layered construction, and intentional materials, Rooted explores how humans mirror these same instincts. Clothing becomes a form of self-defense, signaling strength, confidence, and presence before a word is spoken. The fabric and trim selections echo natural textures and protective surfaces, while the final lineup presents warrior women grounded in power and resilience.
Rather than conceal the body, Rooted frames it—transforming garments into modern armor that celebrates survival, individuality, and strength.
Kimono Inspired mini COLLECTION 2026
This capsule collection is guided by a design philosophy rooted in inspiration rather than appropriation. Drawing from the structural logic of traditional Japanese kimono dress, the focus is placed on wrapping systems, layered construction, and textile storytelling—rather than replicating culturally specific or sacred garments. These ideas are reinterpreted into contemporary silhouettes that feel relevant within a global fashion context.
Designed for powerful women, the collection uses structure, proportion, and intentional detailing to communicate confidence, control, and presence. By abstracting historical principles instead of reproducing traditional forms, the designs honor the cultural significance of the kimono while evolving into modern garments that emphasize empowerment, individuality, and strength.

STILL LIFE COLLECTION
Photos are metaphors, making the abstract concrete and mystifying the mundane. Be clear, be confident, and don’t overthink it. The beauty of your story is that it’s going to continue to evolve and your site can evolve with it. Your goal should be to make it feel right for right now. Later will take care of itself.
